HDI San Antonio Local Chapter accepting nominations for the Board of Directors

Nominations are now open for the HDI San Antonio Local Chapter Board of Directors.  We start 2017 with an excellent core group of officers and are looking for a few additions to round out our Board and make 2017 our best year ever.   We are planning an exploratory lunch for Wednesday, March 8 for those interested in seeking a Board of Directors position.  Please review the information below and contact Bernard Beaullieu if you are interested in being a part of our Board.

What are the requirements of service?

  • We have our board Meetings the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  We normally pick a central location to all attendees.  We expect officers to attend at least 9 out of 12 board meetings.
  • Everyone on the board rotates for the monthly one hour Regional Conference Call and one hour National Conference Call.   Typically we have 6-7 Board Members.  That is a one hour call every 3 months.
  • HDI also holds a 30 minute “Grass Roots” call every other month for each of the officer roles.  This is where each of the officers get together with their peers from other chapters to discuss best practices for their focus area.

HDI San Antonio looking forward to 2017!

The HDI San Antonio Local Chapter kicked off the year last week with our first Board of Directors meeting for 2017.  We are very excited about our prospects as we start 2017 with an excellent core group of officers and a solid game plan to expand our influence in the local IT support community.  Here is a brief overview of our plans for serving you and this great community:

Programs & Events for 2017

For 2017, we are planning a membership meeting for the third Thursday of February, April, June, August and October.  Our first meeting will be a Lunch Social on February 16 from 11:30 to 1:00.  Please save the date and look for a formal announcement within the week.  Our 8th Annual Awards Luncheon will be on Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Thank you San Antonio for making this another great year for the HDI San Antonio Local Chapter.  Last week we finished off 2016 with a bang at the 7th Annual Awards Banquet honoring San Antonio’s top IT Support Professionals.   Every year HDI recognizes North America’s top Service Desk Analysts and Desktop Support Technicians starting with a local Awards Program.  As always, we had a great group of nominees from local area organizations including:

Congratulations to our HDI San Antonio Analyst of the Year, Jerry Sullivan, Whataburger and Desktop Support Technician of the Year, Lazaro Ferdin, Whataburger.  They will go on to compete at the HDI Regional level.
